- 08/20/08 To the Race Medical personnel who came to the Glen for NASCAR, Karen and I would like to send our gratitude and thanks for your professionalism, long hours and a job well done. This is our biggest event, but also the must stressful. Let's not forget that we have one more race to provide medical coverage for and that is the "Vintage Race", the weekend after Labor Day, Friday to Sunday, Sept 5-7. This is a great weekend to come see great older cars race. If you are an old car buff, you will truly enjoy this weekend. Also with this weekend, it is a good time for our new EMTs to become familiar with the Pit Medical Operation and to actually spend some time in the pits. Just remember, when you are in the pits, you are in full nomex at all times when the track is hot. And if we have enough people, there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the track and the antique cars there. This is also a great weekend to bring a new CFR or EMT who wants to join and become part of the RSI Safety Team. If they join now, they will also be paid up for next year, 2009. If you do bring someone, please let Karen or myself know their names so we can make sure they get on the access roster at registration. - 08/11/08 If anyone found a clear NASCAR bag under the tree in Times Square near the old Easy Gate after the race Sunday, please let me know. The owner is looking for it. Thank you. boB Carson
