Let us not forget to reach out...

...to our friends that still need our support during this time of healing. The updates about memorial services are gone but the need is still there to let Pat and Dave know we are thinking about them and care for them. we will miss our friends Lorraine and Dorothy. I have left the document up regarding memorial donations for Dorothy in the members only area for a bit longer.

Mid-Year Get Together!!! February 10 - 12, 2012 UPDATE!!!

UPDATE!! If anyone still wants to go to the mid year event, you have until Friday, 1/27/12 to get the special rate. Also, there is an all you can eat prime rib buffet that "could" be available to us at $30.64 pp. If you are interested, please let Eric know by calling 585.260.5016 or email him at ebrasser576@hotmail.com. We need at least 25 or they may not do it. The get together is February 10-12, 2012. Check in on the 10th, check out on the 12th. We are staying at the Ramada in Geneva. Their Phone # is (315) 789-0400. Make reservations under Race Services Incorporated. Room rate is $89. you don't have to stay both nights but we sure would love it if you did! We usually have a ball doing this; everyone is welcome to attend. It is just a great time to get together in the off season and visit with our "track family". Dave Jones Information

Dave Jones (Race Med Chief) is doing better. I've seen posts that he has been moved to rehab for continued Physical therapy. i will gladly keep ou posted as i find out more. trying to confirm exactly where he is and once i do, ill post.

President's Corner:

The season, though it seemed had only just begun , did in fact come to a close this weekend with the year end meeting and Second Annual Halloween Party. This season held incidences which tested the training and skills of the Fire/Rescue section of our team, and they demonstrated they were ready for the challenge.  The Course Marshals also were not able to get through the season without having their training and skills tested.  They too proved they were ready for the challenge.   Moving on to another portion of our team, Start/Finish and Flagging and Communications, did a great job communicating conditions on and around the track.   These communications are vital to those who make safety decisions when incidences happen as well as communications with the drivers.  All the while, Grid/Paddock and Pitts worked tirelessly to keep race traffic aligned, orderly and moving safely amongst fans, crews and other drivers.  The Race Medical portion of our team provided skilled medical care for drivers, crews and fellow RSI members throughout the season.  And speaking of taking care of people, the Workers Support section of the team was there for all of us, working though the heat, the rain and the cold to deliver refreshments.  They also helped with whatever was asked of them.   Combining all specialties together we make up the RSI family, which is a team that is second to none in providing quality services to Watkins Glen International Racetrack.   I am proud to have worked with all of you this season.
